Fun Weekend!

This weekend we went pumpkin "picking". Which means we picked one out. I had great ideals of actually going out to a farm, but we wound up going to a garden center instead. Here are my pumpkins!
Timmy picked out his punkin all by himself. We thought it was about the size of his big punkin head. Look at those gorgeous heads! Grace and Rachel came to visit this weekend. We had so much fun! We hung out, picked pumpkins, went shopping and then hung out some more. Just what I needed!
Isaac had so much fun, too! Rachel played chess with him....one of his favorite games. Here's me and my sistahs! I was sad to see them go, but we sure had fun!

Camping pictures!

I wanted to post some more pictures from our camping trip a few weeks back. These are some that Kris took. Here's all the men 'round the campfire. We had a rather wet weekend, but I was impressed they still managed to keep a campfire going.
And here are the ladies, minus Kari. She was off walking Katie, their adorable little daughter. She's only 4 months old (Katie, not Kari!). Pictured here are me, Tricia, and Pam. Like I said, it was rather wet that weekend, so don't be too jealous of our great hairstyles!
Timmy had a great time playing on the beach. Who cares about a little rain when you've got some sand to dig in?The kids had a blast on the playground. They pulled a slide over to this mud puddle and took turns sliding down into the mud. Isaac jumps off just in time..............
but gives up staying clean next go 'round. We had a bunch of muddy, wet, happy kids! At least they slept well that night!

Isaac is 5!

Saturday we went to the Strong National Museum of Play, one of Isaac and Timmy's favorite spots. Grandma and Grandpa Overholt came for the weekend to help celebrate Isaac's 5th birthday! Here Maurice, Isaac and Timmy got to ride the train at the museum.Isaac and Grandpa at the Pirates Cove. What a treasure!
Isaac, Timmy and Grandma digging for treasure in the sand pit. It was hard to tell who had more fun!
Sunday night we had a family party for Isaac before Grandma and Grandpa left Monday morning. We had such a great weekend..........the kids really enjoyed seeing their grandparents. (as did we!)
Isaac got to have his first party at Chuck E. Cheese's! He wanted to have an "all boy" party....no girls allowed! Poor thing was still sick, but he did have a good time.

The boys fell asleep on our way to Jellystone a couple of weeks ago when we went camping. I love to see them sleeping! (both for cuteness and sanity reasons).
Last week I taught Timmy how to dunk an Oreo in milk. Not surprisingly, he caught on quickly!
Does he look happy, or what?Yesterday, Timmy insisted on putting his shirt on himself. He got it on........inside out and backwards! But he was so proud of himself. He is turning into one of the most independent and stubborn little creatures I've ever known. I've had to start with the time-outs. I'm amazed that he does pay attention when I put him in time-out.

Isaac has been very sick the past week. He started with some kind of stomach virus last Thursday and hasn't been able to kick it yet. He just sits around all day on the couch and sleeps a LOT. He's finally drinking, but he hasn't really eaten anything since Friday. I did get him to eat a few bites of soup and half a popsicle yesterday, but he's just not wanting food. I had to take him to the doctor on Monday because he was getting so dehydrated. His eyes were all sunken in and he just looked awful. I feel like such a mean mom.........the only way I could get him to drink was to tell him that if he didn't drink I would have to take him to the hospital and they'd put a needle in his arm to give him fluids. He started drinking more after that. He's already missed two days of school (Monday was a holiday--Yom Kippur. A large number of families in our district are Jewish, so we get extra school holidays!) and he'll probably miss at least tomorrow as well.

On a nicer note, Maurice's parents are coming for the weekend. Monday is Isaac's 5th birthday, and they're coming to help celebrate. I'm so excited, I love having family around!
